im lookin for some nice n cheap tires for ma jeep, so far ive found some 34 inch super swamper LTBs for around a 10o bucks a piece from a major dealer. Is there another tire thats cheap and is comparable to the swamper?

If you look close at the Kuhmo´s (Fulda), the Big O´s, the Wal Mart Mud tires (forget the name). The tread, on at least two out of three are clones, with different side lettering. I look for sales and extended warranty promotions.
TSL´s seemed to work the best off road in most situations, But are noisy and wear fast.
Dunlop M/T´s get the job done, come in most sizes and can be had cheap, often. They last well.

THERE IS NO TIRE COMPARABLE TO THE SWAMPER

The LTB is a very affordable tire and very agressive, but the tread compound is the softest of all swampers. They won't last very long on the road, I'd limit it's use to the trailer queens.

High-Tec Retreads have a decent MT and AT tire in many sizes for half what you would pay new. I ran a set, and there's about 4 or 5 jeepers in our club that are still running these MT tires, mostly in 33x12.5 flavor.

Yep, and they're reliable. Much better than the 'ole retreads you hear horror stories about, and different than the recaps the truckers lose on the big road.

Just be sure to tell them you want all 4/5 tires to have the same brand carcass, you should be able to choose from several.

i just got these cooper discovery sst's and there ppretty dang nice, theyll do me over till i get those retreads and then eventually some swampers.

Hey Cooper is one of the best tires on the road. I run them on my Surburban and have ran coopers for years on most all the road cars I have had in the past. They do make a mud tread but have had no experence with them. tug

First the Brute... Now the Hemi...

yeah i got the mud ones, 90 bucks for a set of 4. they hum nicely down the road, and dig out of everything.

i have kumho tires. they are not that good. the tires wear down exstremely fast. i would spend the extra money for better tires. thoughs are one of the main parts of your ride. and kumhos _absolutely_ suck in the rain and snow.

Just check your phone book yellow pages under tires. The thing about Cooper is they only sale through their athorized dealers. You will never see them in Sams club, walmart, or other discount outlets. They are priced very competively and offer a real stand by what we say deal. good luck and let us all know how they work out if you get em. tug
