I put a 2 inch lift in my 93 cherokee and its like I saw the truck for the first time again. With the lift and 31 inch tires it has a whole new look. Doing the lift was fun although the front end did kick my ass a little it wasnt bad. I really cant wait for the weather to warm up so I can hit some trails and get my baby all dirty. This is my first Jeep, I always wanted one and I finally got one. I cant figure out how to post a pic of the Jeep so lol yer just going to have to take a rain check for now:(

i cut the fenders on the front for more flex...by the way, where are you located?

Looks very cool Jakbob, unfortunatly mine is a daily driver and I refuse to get as nuts as you did. I live in New Jersey and its hard to find a place to go that isnt paved. Dude that thing looks tough, 3 inch lift huh? was it hard to do or not so much? I got 31inch Mud Kings and had to trim the inside bumpers in the front. I got a 5.2ltr. and a Dana 70 rear....I think. Any how thanks for checking out my thread. Still cant get my pics to work.....too bad I suck at computers.

mines a daily driver as well, but i had to trim and fenders being like 400 a set...i decided to wait...but the lift took me one whole day to do b/c i had to borrow tools and jaks and what not...oh oh and when you find out how to put pics (ill pm you how) could you give me some pics of your engine and bay? i was thinking bout putting in a 5.2 from a zj like yours and i wanted to find out what i would have to do...

What?! You just threw me for a loop, you have a Dana 70 in the rear of your XJ? :?

Sorry, so its a ZJ, but that doesnt explain the 70, a dana 70 is a one ton axle.

Yep, probably not a D70 unless someone swapped it in. But I bet it would be lifted more than 2" if that was the case.

Hey what kind of lift do you have on this thing? My brother is looking to lift his XJ... same exact thing... 93 2 Door.

I put a 2 inch Skyjacker lift in, it was about $164 bux from my buddy. It look about mmmm 6 hours to complete. Started on the front and it gave me an ass ake. The rear however went together like gang-busters. Depending on what size tires he gets....probably 31's so it doesnt look stupid like a roller skate, he may need to trim the inside front bumper. After I put the larger tires on I tested the steering out and heard the tire scrapping the bumper. I trimmed a liberal amount, not getting crazy, took it for a ride and had to trim a little more. My rims are offset by about an inch so if your bro is going to use his stock rims he may not need to worry about trimming. I hope you found some sort of knowledge in this and it helps.... let me know.

I am pretty sure that my buddy who sold me the jeep said it was a 70. I had to do new carrier bearings and had ordered them for a D70. I'll double check tomorrow when I get to work. By the way doing carrier bearings is the suck. I'd rather bathe in boiling acid with Martha Stewart.

There's no reason in the world anyone would install a D70 into a stock Jeep, and it definately didn't come that way from the factory.

It's probably a Chrys. 8.25

Ok, I didnt say I was 100% on that rear, I'll find out tomorrw and let you know.
