Nice looking XJ.. I would say you didn't go wrong. It sometimes isn't about book price and what it's worth on paper. Sometimes it's all about if your happy in the end. And sound's like the Mazda was getting to where it needed fixed a lot and foreign cars are not cheap when they go in the shop. Accouple jobs ago I worked for a local cheese factory and they had a XJ about the same year. It was a limited or sport or whatever fancy model it was for that year. Nobody drove it nice. All the employees drove it like a race car. Before I left it had nearly 300000 miles and still ran great and they did nothing to that thing. No oil changes, no grease jobs, no maintance but it just kept running. It should have died as bad as it was treated but it just kept running

Love it so far need a cd player!!! They kept their stereo. But its got the jensen system which is pretty cool I think! Lift and tires soon hopefully. Just taking our time with it seeing what all we need to do before or during the lift. .maybe goin with a three inch so help us guys any suggestions?

So every since iv been with my wife everytime we've seen a cherokee classic or an xj on the road im always like look at that jeep! And I drive a wj ! But I like all jeeps. .she would always say ew! I hate those body styles! I wouldn't drive that. . So Guess who wont let me drive the new old jeep now

Yes, we are known to change our minds every once in a while...for 20+ years, I refused to even consider a YJ .... And now look at what I drive...

once you drive an xj, you see what you were missing not having one. power, turning radius, space, comfort, decent gas mileage.

I have always liked em and she drove it last night and you could see the gleam in her eyes. . Its her first jeep!

she is hooked now. same thing happened to my wife. we went from a cherokee to a grand cherokee to a liberty and then to a wrangler. now she has a pt cruiser but wants a 4 door wrangler as a play jeep. (i told her not to sell her wrangler)

Yep, my wife is hooked as well, now she wants me to trade our 04 Jeep and my Prius for a new JK! The Jeep is a third vehicle we tow behind our motorhome and use on weekends because it's a blast to drive, and my last tank of gas almost netted 18 mpg, but why would I trade my daily driver that averages 54 mpg for a new JK? Granted, I'd love a 2012 JK with the new engine, but would still like to give them time to prove their mettle before making the plunge! Besides, there is a certain appeal to having a TJ with the in-line 6, as opposed to the new V6. Maybe I'm just nostaligic...

I was gonna say the same thing. .there's nothing more fun than a 4.0 I think they should do a new variation of it. .but you know they would mess it up. .just bring back the old one. . So I got to drive the jeep today! Check out this jeep that was serviced at our shop this morning. The lady said she has been driving jeeps since college when her 82 wagoner was stolen in Knoxville! She's got it set up right!
