Gas tank

My 87 yj wrangler has a leak in the gas but I don't know from where. I can see has on the side of the skid plate. How can I fix this?

Is your tank metal or plastic

It could be one of the hoses that go to the tank. No matter what it is, You're going to have to drop the tank to find out.

YJs tend to leak from the hose connections on the top of the gas tank but can be accessed by feel; crawl under the jeep in front of the driver’s side rear wheel and reach back and up to feel the connections. Tighten them up with a screw or nut driver. On a TJ you have no choice but to drop the tank.

Hey just letting you guys know the gas tank was brought down the problem was little small holes in the bottom of the tank. Do you know how I can fix the gas gauge its not responding to the gas tank?

Try cleaning the contact points with carb cleaner or something more effective? Was the gauge working before?
