We all know what overland means. I knew when I bought it that it was a jeep overland sahara, but apparently the dealer didn't. I just got a call from him. He offered me a brand new 2011 jeep unlimited as a trade. That's worth about twice as much as I payed for my jeep.

I'm keeping my jeep I just thought that was funny.

dealer mistakes are always interesting

I bet that car dealers kids wont have any Christmas because of that mistake........ Just kidding, I love it. Keep the Jeep man!!!:D

Personally I see no difference between all of the kinds of jeeps, but overland vehicles tend to have slightly better gas mileage and are used for off road "road trips" so to speak. It's not wired to hit big trails but it's designed to spend weeks on light off road conditions. Like expeditions.

No DOUBT!!! THIS 11 MPG is fun. I don't mind paying to fill it but stopping to fill up every 180miles sucks

I'm going to hate that tomorrow. I used to fill up the Sequoia and make it all 352 miles to the beach with gas to spare, in 5 1/2 hours. Now not only will I have to spend an extra $60 on gas, it'll take me 6 1/2 hours for not going over 60mph and having to stop to fill up.

how come not going over 60? i have realized the 1mpg difference between 60 and 70 and my time is worth that difference in gas

That's true. Mine just doesn't like going much faster than 65, and sure won't go 80 like the Sequoia. It just doesn't feel safe if I have to suddenly avoid something. I've just trained myself in the last few months to leave a few minutes early because I'm in no hurry with a Jeep - that usually makes me a safer driver.

The 'Overland' must be an export thing, never heard of it in the States.

Post up what makes the 'Overland' model different than any other Wrangler if you find out.

So far the only noticeable difference is a sticker on the hood. At lest that's what I thought before the phone call. I think I may snoop a little bit

i googled it. supposed to have a factory snorkel, hardtop color matched, and some other little things. find out a definitive description though as mine was from car and driver

Mine doesn't have any of that stuff!!! My hard top is black (which I prefer) and I have an easy attach space for a snorkel, unless it's hidden under the hood I don't have one. I'll look though. Now I'm seriously curious.

miss k, you'll have to stop in suffolk next time you're headed to the beach and pick up my xj. hwy mpg more like 22, at 70 mph. and she'll cruise at 85 - 90 if you prefer... and get up there quickly. ;)

22 mpg and up is if you're behaving. but trust me, you won't want to after openin' 'er up a few times. ;)

I'll be passing through Suffolk around 11:30 tonight so if you wake up and your ride has been replaced by a black four-door hardtop with sexy tires... You'll know who it was.

I snooped. My hard top is in fact black and my body is maroon. But I DO HAVE a snorkel!!! The things I learn! It's impressive. My snorkel is under my hood. Cool

Not passing through Suffolk tonight, and not tomorrow. I got hit with some vertigo when I left the house, made it about four miles and then turned around and went home. I thought I was just really tired, but figured it out a little bit ago. :-(
