My 2013 would not start yesterday when I went out to
lunch at work which is 50 miles from where I live.
Got a call from the dealer this afternoon and they said
it was the fuel pump. Are you ****ting me !
Fuel pump at 8570 miles ...
Since it is the Holiday weekend they can't get the
part until Wednesday. So I get to drive their rental
until then. My Wife has now decided she will keep her
Avalanche instead of getting rid of it for her own Wrangler :-(

Not trying to insult anyone but when Fiat was given a billion and half of our tax payer Dollars and control of Chrysler by Obama for “management skills”, Fiat was rated number 20 in Europe among new car manufactures in customer satisfaction. The only way to get that low a rating is by going cheap on quality in my opinion. You may have just got a bum pump or Fiat started to lower the quality to save a few bucks. It would be interesting to know the truth.

One thing that will kill a electric pump is running it with a low level of fuel on a regular bases. Not saying thats what happened, but just a common cause most people dont know. Not a good idea to run with much less than a 1/4 tank, it stresses the pump and causes premature failure. I been told the reason why is with that low level, the gas sloshes around more and the pump is more likely the suck air on ocassion which is hard on it and burns it up over a short time. slow death for a pump. ive burned two pumps up and I am thinking they are right because I have tried keeping more gas in the new pump and so far it ok. been about a year now.

WOW ... Thank You so much 69JeepCJ ! ! !
You have most likely hit it right on the head.
I did not know that either and THAT is probably what happen exactly.
I was running low and needed gas and was planning to get some
right after work. I am also VERY guilty about always letting it run
below a 1/4 tank of gas before filling up. I will NOT let that happen
if I can anymore in any of my vehicles !
You have no idea how much your reply means to me at this time.
It was the most helpful of all the replies in the 5 forums I posted
about my no start problem. Just a little note .....
I did not post about what is also going on right now.
I spent a week in the hospital earlier this month only to find
out I have a blood clot problem that cause a few to end up in
my lung. At the same time they said I have cancer and start
a 12 week regiment of chemo tomorrow (Dec.31st). Plus I will
have to go on disability at work at 50% less pay the 12 weeks.
I live in a very rural area and the hospital is 20 miles away and
it is only me and my Wife (no kids and no Family live nearby
to help). That is why I was so edgy in my first post. Very relived
now knowing what may have caused the problem.
Thanks again 69JeepCJ !
