i already have a borla catback...but my friend can get me a flowmaster for free, should i take the flowmaster and put it on my jeep or take the flowmaster and sell it and buy somethign else?

I like my flowmaster but I don't know if I would go through all of the work of switching until you trash the Borla a a rock or blow it out.

Problems with my Pro Comp Lift

Does anyone have any sound clips of jeeps with borla or flowmasters on them. I have always wondered what they sounded like and was interested in getting one.

Well I had just a simular argument back in 2001 when I was changing out my exhaust...
Back then I had a smaller group of pep's to ask but the flowmaster came out on top. I have read 20-30 reviews from people around the country about the Borla and nearly 90% have been negitive. Not that they are bad or good but that what has been written.
Personal my Flowmaster has performed very well for two years now and the deep rumble reminds me of the older V-8's super cars I used to drive.( lol a old man in a jeep with a stupid muscle car grin) The I-6 sounds very good with the flowmaster and has been commented on several times by other Jeep pwners. Two hard years in the Utah winters with road salt to deal with and it still looks nice and clean.
Yes I can say I noticed a big improvment in power...but I would be lying since I still feel the jeep has little to no "ball's". (was driving a Dodge 1500 with the 318 V-8 before hand)

i have heard that the Borla is really prone to damgage from rocks and such on the trail, and that the flowmaster holds up even when damaged. But Borla's are a really nice unit, so I dont know if I could justfiy swaping it out.

I like my flowmaster. But i have a YJ with a 4.2 and it is the most unique beaslty sound. But thats the 4.2 the 4.0 is really quiet in comparison, but I have a buddy with a 95 and a 4.0 w/ flowmaster and its sounds purdy good just not as good as mine.

i found a 4.0 with a flomaster and no cat on the net... can't remember where it was... but i loved the sound

I personally have never heard a Borla muffler. I might have on the street but didn't know of it. Well, I like Flowmaster, but If you want an even deeper sound than a Flow, look into a Mellowtone. It has a lifetime warranty at most shops. Ask around and see if anyone has one so you can hear it.
