First Week as a Jeeper :)

Well, first week at a fellow jeeper.. I am very excited.. the site is awesome.. It is cool that there is even an app for my phone.. Got a long road before my CJ is the Jeep of my dreams but it will be fun making it that way. If you have seen my pic of the jeep you have probly noticed that my step dad sure "rednecked" or "hillbillied" it up. It looks cool but I am gonna go for more of a factory, new look. almost don't know where to start.. lol.. First thing is new main bearings and rod bearing. The jeep is dropping oil pressure after it warms up. My step dad had a new rear main seal put in and had the top end gone through when he had it done so that is good. Looks like there might even be enough room to drop the pan without pulling the engine so I can sneak the bearings in the bottom. Yeah i know it's cheating but there is still alittle summer left and I am having to much fun driving it to just shut it down the rest of the year.. lol.. anyway, I will keep adding photos of all my progress. Thanks Brad, it's great to be here. Yeah, my step dad had this jeep for years. Guess he got tired of me borrowing it so much cause he sold it to me. Between him and me we kept it running over the years but it is far from perfect. And my step dad is not a mechanic by no means so he left me plenty to fix. But it is an old CJ so there isn't a whole lot to it. And it'll surely be fun. And after I will have some sweet before and after pics and a sweet CJ so it's all good. Will definitely keep the pics coming. See ya around

welcome ! there is no better feeling than getting in there and fixing your baby up yourself ! I used to belong to the Volkswagen beetle family. i had a souped up bug and they were the greatest group of people....then i got the jeep disease lol ! This is by far the best site for jeeps. The people are for the most part eager and willing to part with good advise and no flaming or the other wasted time some sites permit. This is a good bunch you've joined !

Thanks Black. I know I will have fun. And the jeep I got there is plenty to fix. Most of it is nothing to serious thou. Yeah them old beetles are cool. My buddy had, I believe it was a 64 Rally Beetle. He let me drive it once. I was a blast but I am a pretty big guy so I couldn't hardly shift it without opening the door so I could put my foot on the clutch.lol. I have actually been a big fan of jeeps for years. I have been getting 4wd and Quadratec catalogs for years now. And I did have a 99 TJ Sport for accouple years till the company I worked for slowed down severally. And I almost have a 95 YJ Rio Grande but the deal fell through. But I drove it accouple weeks and it was awesome. But this CJ is mine free and clear. Yeah. Everyone seem pretty great. Can't be all bad it they like Jeeps..lol

Man Red.. it looked pretty sweet to start with.. not saying the end result doesn't look awesome thou.. I hope mine looks that good some day.. stopped at 4wd yesterday so it's on it's way
