I ordered some Rokmen Mercenary Sliders just right before Christmas and finally got them this past week. Going over to a friends garage Saturday evening to get everything drilled and ready to install.I ordered them bare metal but I still haven't decided if I want to paint or powdercoat them. Either way we will get them ready to install and go from there. I can't wait!!

I agree about the pics. My wife got on me after I lifted the Jeep - I've been ordered to "get her some steps", but I haven't found any sliders I like, that would also make her happy.

I'll get some pics after I get them installed.
If I decide to just spray paint them I should have pics maybe tomorrow. If I go with powdercoat might be next weekend. But I will definatly get some pics.

Terry,
These sliders have the bar on them that could serve as a step. Also Poison Spyder have some nice looking sliders with built in steps . I think they are the rockerknockers, not sure though. I remember seeing some on their website.

I sprayed mine....several times.
Might also be good to pick up some grip tape from Lowe's. I used it all over my steps. It helps with muddy boots.

Yeah, I,m leaning toward spray painting them for touch up purposses. Did you use Krylon or Rustolium, Redrooster?
Yes, I will get the grip tape for the step. (good idea!)
All in all, are you satisfied with your rocker sliders?

Mine are home made, but yeah I've been happy with them. They are great to stand on and have successfully fended off rocks and trees for years. I primed them with Sherwin 988 as I have most of the metal on my Jeep then coated them with black Rusto.

Thanks for the info Redrooster. I think I,m going with the spraypaint.
Forgot about Sunday being the Superbowl, though  suppose to go to some friends.
The Jeep might have to wait till next weekend :x

Well, if I did this right(please!please!please!) here are some pics

woooohooo! It worked!! (thanks for the help, Terry! ;))

Sorry I couldn't have got a picture of them before I drove down our dandy county roads.

The install was straight forward and very simple to do. They are heavy so it would be a plus if you have someone help you. Floorjacks are a BIG help.

See the Fed-Ex sticker on the bottom of the skid in last pic? Yup, that's the way I got 'em. Wasn't to happy about that, had some scrapes on the bars from shipping, but not to bad. Paint seemed to hide them fairly well. Other than that, so far (haven't had a chance to try them out yet!) I am very happy with them.

I like my poison Spyders but I am going to add an additional bar to them soon.

I just have to bend the tube, weld it on and paint it. I will admit that I will either add bathtub tape of put sand in the paint for the final coat...

Use the grip tape. Sand in the paint will quickly wear off. Grip tape will wear out too in a few years, but it's easy to replace. I have also seen people cut thin strips of expanded metal and tack weld them to the top sides of the bars for foot traction. It probably works the best, but not very attractive.

I hope to get some grip tape tomorrow. Thebars are a little high for a step, but better than nothing. My youngest daughter still has a heck of a time trying to reach that first step!
