Use the grip tape. Sand in the paint will quickly wear off. Grip tape will wear out too in a few years, but it's easy to replace. I have also seen people cut thin strips of expanded metal and tack weld them to the top sides of the bars for foot traction. It probably works the best, but not very attractive.[/QUOTE

I hope to get some grip tape tomorrow. Thebars are a little high for a step, but better than nothing. My youngest daughter still has a heck of a time trying to reach that first step!

What if you use Hurculiner? Then when it wears off, just put more on!

Now that is good thinking! Maybe I will get my wife a lift kit for the Jeep and some 33's. She doesnt need flowers or jewelry, so it will make it a BIG surprise. She will never expect that! :lol:
