Exterior Mirrors?

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to build or buy something so that I will have external rear view mirrors without my doors on. I have a 97 TJ and I guess I'd be willing to spend up to $40-$50 if I had to, or I can build it myself if anyone has any ideas. Thanks :)

Another cheap solution is Harley-Davidson motorcycle mirrors. You gotta get the Harley's 'cause they're the only ones with long enough threads to fit through your hinges. All the ricer bikes thread into a mount on the handlebars........Harley mirrors run through the handlebar with a nut on the end. You can get some cheap ones on eBay.

I got a kit from Quadratec also.

They went on the windshield hinge. Hardest aprt was removing the old screws...

They work great now!

Outside mirrors are not required in many states, not here in IL. We only require one rear facing mirror and the rearview on the windshield is plenty.

The mirror movers mentioned here are probably the cleanest and easiest way to do it. I noticed they were only about $30. Of course if you're going to mount some lights on the windshield there is also another set of brackets that combines the mirror relocation with the light bracket. I wish I would've got those, but they weren't available.

I used to use some CJ mirrors. I just drilled into the front of the windshield hinge with the pattern for the mirror mounting foot and tapped the holes. Put some 3/8" long bolts in and it was all good. You may be able to pick some up for cheap off eBay.

What I did too
