I have heard mixed things and have heard people passin the sniffer test without having a cat and people failing the sniffer with a brand new cat. But Tug is right, a punched out cat and a glasspack will sound 'nice' but the low tone you are after is available with a V8!! :-D :-D [addsig]

The cat thing! Yea you need one but clamp in a tube the size and location where the cat goes. At inspection time drop the tube and add the cat after drop the cat add the tube. If you need a cat some one here on the board has a groupe inspection cat for a loaner just pay the shipping both ways. :-D tug the cat hater! :evil: [addsig]
