Engine noise????

Upon startup of our 2000 Cherokee Limited, there is a constant "ticka ticka, ticka ticka, ticka ticka, ticka ticka" like sound. Upon going into reverse and drive the sound speeds up. It sounds as if it is coming from the front end. Any ideas????

Cracked exhaust manifold. Inspect it closely where each tube meets the collector.

good thought, along the same lines... if that manifold IS indeed cracked, i'd suggest replacing your (likely squishy) motor mounts so you're not fixing the manifold again in 10k miles...
