Hello, I have a 93 xj 4.0 just replaced the battery I am showing a 4.1 amp draw between the neg. post and the neg. cable with key off. Is that an excessive amount. thanks for any help offered.

Yes!!! You should read 100mA or less draw. Something is on or shorted.
While measuring as you note above, start pulling fuses until it drops significantly.
That will define what circuit has the problem.
Do you have anything hooked to the battery directly? Like an amp or radio?
