I am trying to get ready for the mods I will be preforming in the 03 TJ. First I will be trimming my Stock bumper for the 31's that are in my future. I want to trim the bumper down to about 1" outside of the frame mounts. This will leave room for Hooks yet still give me room for the Meats. Now for the question, for anyone that has a dremel.

Will a Dremel cut the stock bumper? [addsig]

Go to the rental store and ask for a metal cutting chop saw. Set the angles you want to cut and in a few short mins you can reinstall that puppy. tug[addsig]

dermmel would take for EVER, try my two favorite tools.... a sawzall, and a 4.5'' angle grinder..... :-D :-D :-O [addsig]

a dremel will probably work, but you'll be going through 20 bits per fender, 4 fenders, 80 bits total for the job... haha... get a bigger saw and do a rough cut with it, then touch up the trimming by sanding with the dremel[addsig]

That is what I thought. Unfortunantly, I live in Apts where Maintinance is not allowed. :-( I will have to do this at my parents house. WAIT. My dad has all the tools I need but it is a 4 hour trip.[addsig]

Go to the rental store, ask if you can rent it and use it there for about 30 mins. Go to the local war wash unbolt and have your bumper off and make the cuts and put it back on in the local car wash parking lot. 1 hour job and very little cost. No road trip needed. tug[addsig]

Snitty and I have more in common all the time. Car wash uses!
Night time garages!
A place to escape the sudden summer down pour!
Mud scrapping area! hehehe
What else? tug[addsig]

The only thing I have to add is you need to make sure
on the state rgulations on your bumper I know that some states
require it to be to the edge of the fender....just a word for
thought .. But go with a saw-zaw .....Good Luck......

Tug its a car wash what about the wet "T" contest???? :-D [addsig]

First, why cut the bumper??? 31's will fit fine without cutting. I'm running 31x11.50x15's and there is plenty of room from the widest part of the tire to the bumper. Secondly, use a sawzall, sand it down a little, prime it, and repaint.[addsig]

Exactly, mine don't rub, check the flex and the pics.
