disturbing noise?

when shifting back down from 4l to 2wd, ive noticed a bit of a whining noise in mostly 1-3. it could be there in 4th, and i just dont hear it over the engin noise. i opened the hood and the noise seemed to be comming from the front of the bli

ock, (belts maybe?) I turned it off and let it cool down and turned it on again. it didn't make the noise anymore but later on that night i was taking a ride and i noticed it again. Any ideas? should i be concerned? please help![addsig]

Sounds like belts to me.

You might want to get a can of that "belt dressing" and squirt it on. Its kinda a cleaning solution/rubber conditioner that helps with belt squeal and also helps keep your rubber from rotting.



Keep your eye on it and try to localize the sound as best as you can.[addsig]

I have a weird noise that almost sounds like very faint rod knock, but it's just my belts.... i dunno -Mike
