Diff Questions

Ya, just spent the last hour or so cleaning the 25 year old gasket off of my dana 30. I used various tools including a box cutter, a chisel, various scwredroivers, and my fingernails. And, for y'alls information, the steering box does not make a very comfortable pillow. Well, y'all may think I'm a pansy for asking this, but I donot want to repeat this process on the rear diff, any tricks for getting these stinking gaskets off?

Also, does the AMC 20 with trac-lock require a special additive in its oil?

When I worked at the Honda Shop our Tech always used a singlr sided razor blade (no holder) he could have any gasket off in a matter of minutes. Then used an air sander with VERY high grit sandpaper to touch it up..VERY VERY FINE paper!

Bounty and 88 hit the nail on the head....LBR

RE: catalytic converter question

yeah if you have traclock... head to autozone and get some traclock additive... its like 3 or 4 bucks

RE: Non-Jeep question, bu trying to help a friend

Most quality gear lube(sta-lube--purple lable) already has the additive in it, look for that. Might save some $$$
