Dana 44 vs 35

Newbie here, and i have got a question, in buying a used jeep how can i tell whether it has a 44 or a 35 rear end? i understand that the saharas all have 44's is that right? Thanks, i was looking at past posts, and this site answerd a lot of my questions.

Which year and model Jeep are you looking at?

No YJ's came with a D44, they were only available in TJ's in the Sport or Sahara trim, and only as an option, the D35 came standard. Most D44 rears came with the 30" tire package, Canyon rims, 3.73 gears, and auto transmission. With Jeeps, there are exceptions to every rule :roll:
