cps problems

So let's take it from the top just bought my 98 Laredo 2wd 4.0 3 days ago ran fine on test drive ran fine on the 50 mi ride home stopped at a store about 5mi from home when i left store it did not want to shift so I pulled over and shut it off , cranked it back up drove home fine. The following day drove around the block and it shut off. It would crank no prob but would not start, after doing research i changed the cps, it started no problem, drove it around the block and not shifting again (also stalled) drove it back to the house were it sat for 35_40 min i went back out to start it and try again but now it'd just turning over again an not starting any info would help

Sounds like it could be and electrical short.

Fuel pump relay? I think there is one next to it the same you can swap.
