I replaced the thermostat in my jeep tonight at work with a 160degree job. I love it already :-D Before my rig would always run just a nats ass on the other side of the 210 mark now she doesn't move above 180. It's great. [addsig]

I hope you live in a warm climate:), a 180 degree one here in Rhode Island with the morning temps in the single digits would get you little or no heat. [addsig]

I live in Lincoln, NE and hopefully, I'm crossing my fingers that my top will be off for the year by the end of next week. If I'm having a problem with heat when things get cold well then will just switch back to 195degree job.[addsig]

At least you guys know how warm or cold your jeeps are running. My gauge doesnt work anymore... :-( And it always read all the way to the left... Sucks. I havent taken the time to fix it yet.[addsig]

I used a stant. I went over to the parts store that is run by my boss's brother, and told them I wanted the coolest t-stat they had. [addsig]

Keep in mind that the engine temp has a direct relationship to fuel combustion which (of course) affects power output. If your engine isn't overheating (isn't 210 ok?) then why the change to the cooler thermo? Just curious.[addsig]

There should be a one wire fix located on the rear of the top of you engine passenger side by fire wall it looks like a bolt 8/32 or so sticking out in the area there should be a black or dark blue wire with a boot on the end this goes to your guage just put the boot on the bolt and your guage should work- good luck[addsig]

Mine runs around the 210 mark all the time and the heater roasts me. I have never had any vehicle that has ran a temp over about 180 or 190. hmmm maybe my guage is messed up.

Bluebelle-the cooler a car runs the more horsepower it makes. Therefor the cooler a car runs the better.[addsig]

The 4.0 is suppose to run around 210 if it doesnt the computer thinks its cold and turns the fuel up which in turn lowers fuel mileage which is becoming more of and issue every day. I would stick with the 190.[addsig]

If I spend hours in 4 wheel drive at low speeds the air moves slow and even theoug I have not had the overheating problem, I want it to run as cool as possible in the summer months. But you can bet will add a 180 back in the fall! You could bake bread with my heater in the winter. tug  [addsig]
