Coffee Dilema

I am wondering if anyone has an aftermarket console in their jeep. I have a 94YJ, and the most important upgrade at this point is something to hold my coffee cup. Any suggestions would be appreciated:coffee:

I had this problem in my CJ, So I built me a ceter console. I have modified it a half a dozen times sice as coffee cups have grown and so has my Mountain Dew cup, damn, I need to make a bigger hole, got a new cup over Christmas, 52 oz.

I'm still looking for a doctor that will make me a bag of coffee or better yet a bag of espresso to be intravenously introduced to me every morning and will last for 12hours.

Good luck.. I probably drink 6 cups a day... little less if I get a 24 oz coffee on my way to work.

I'm try to figure out exactly how this thing mounts. Is the holder part as we now see it inside the dash or what ever and the bigger part a "handle" to pull it out from inside its recessed hole? If so yeah cool, but your right...$70 is awfull steep. I hate to say it bootguy.....Autozone.....Like $13. It's just plastic, but 2 huge, adjustable cup holders, pencil holders, CD holders and such it's not a bad deal. 3 sheet metal screws and it's in. That's what I got until I get that ammo box/center console/cup holder worked up.

I have tried the cheap ones , looked at a Tuffy console yesterday, and my coffee cup or water would not fit good as it was only 1 to 1.5 inches deep where the beverage goes. Making my own would be nice since I could put a place to stash pistol. Well will have to look some more since I have no place to build anything.

I had the same problem so I picked this one up for my CJ from Morris 4x4.. I find it very handy but I wouldn't depend on it being secure. The lock is just an afterthought but it has cupholders in the front and back. And a big main storage compartment and a 'sunglass' cubby and coin storage in the front. Cupholders are 2" deep by 3 1/4 " wide. It looks like you could even take out the cupholders in front and mount a stereo if you aren't a coffee drinker :) Ultimate Locking Consoles Jeep Wrangler YJ, CJ5, CJ7 & CJ8 Part # 31515

Hey check out Terry's Post. I'm gonna do it in short time and it's pretty darn secure (even for a pistola)
I think with a little folded sheet metal you could make for organized storage inside it.

Both look good. I actually have 2 Ammo cans that have studs welded on the bottom that are powder coated. I was going to bolt the behind the seat of my truck, but I could put one in the jeep, could spin around and put cup holders on the end (like the boat idea). The other one does not look secure enough for my pistol but would work great for my coffee.

Done!. Chopped up my old Autozone cup holder and bolted part of it to the ammo box. Then, used the other half for a little organized storage inside. All said and done, it worked well, took about 45 minutes, I have an arm rest ;), and now have a place (besides under the seats) for my straps and winch controller. HIGHHOOD....I now even have a place for chicken wings, but alas today was burrito day, so I had to substitute with that. You can still come over though. Plenty of Coronas left, and a suppose you could have a burrito or two. Thanks go to Terry for a good idea.

I thought for sure that as bouncy as Jeeps are that every body here would be used to absorbing coffee through the crotch in the mornings!!!

Now that I see the large can, there is no way that I will use mine for that. What is that a 40mm can? That is perfect, would hold most of the things I dont want walking away.

Don't know for sure what size mm it is. It measures 17" long X 9" wide X 16" tall. It did work out good cause it sat right onto the higher part of the tub in the back by about 1". That made it sit level. I think if I were to buy one (had this one in the garage) I would find one with a hinge on the back, and clamp on the front.

just cut some sheet aluminum and bend it. then you can rivet it down to your ammo box. i don't have a pic but that is what i did in my 85 isuzu trooper back in the day. it held those 52 once cups great and you can make the legs whatever length you want
