CJ7 hard top on a YJ?

Doors off an 83 will fit fine; they are identical. Hardtop back gate hangs down a little more, so you will have to open the back hatch to open your tailgate. The top will fit great, but depends on whether or not the latching thing will bother you. CJ back gates have their own latch, while YJ tops are held closed by the tailgate, so both are lockable on a YJ.
Doors from 76 to 81 have early style latches that will work, but you will have to remove your door striker pins, and doors from 82 to 95 are interchangeable. If the door handle is the flat "paddle style" then it will fit fine. Like this

If it is the earlier style door handle, it will fit, but you'll have to take out your door striker pins and bolt a plate in it's place. Early doors look like this.

Note the doors are the same size, but the latching mechanism is different. Get the later style doors; the early style aren't nearly as good.
The tops from 76 to 86 are all the same, and will fit a YJ as well with the minor latching thing I talked about in the earlier post. A CJ7 tub and YJ tub are the same dimensions (lots of people replace rusted out CJ tubs with wrangler tubs) so the tops/ doors from one will fit the other; it's just the latches that changed over the years.
