Well I have never done a break job! All of the other stuff that I have done yet breaks are not in my bag of tricks. I have a good understanding of the system and how it all works but I have never done it hands on if you get my drift. Well it is time to replace the calipers and pads.

What tricks do I need to know about before I get in there over the next couple of days. Have the calipers and pads ready to go on just need the time. Maybe tomorow evening. Thanks in advance tug

A few things that I have found to be handy are a cheater bar that fit's over your Allen wrench to loosen the calipers bolts.
A "C" clamp, yes a old fashion "C" clamp to force in the pistonbefore you re-install the caliper back on.
Dont forget to put on anti seaze onto the bolts and grease the tracking parts. I have always used the anti squeel paste on the back of the pads ...dont know if it ever helped but why not? eh?

Don't let any grease, dirt, oil, etc... come in contact with the pads. Clean the rotors with brake cleaner after installation before you mount the calipers.
I'm guilty of this myself, but resist the urge to buy the $15 dollar pads from the chain stores. Get good quality pads, it really does make a difference in stopping ability and service life, especially with large tires and a bunch of heavy off-road accessories that your braking system wasn't designed to handle in the first place.
