hey are the dana 20's any good? dotn know if i should scrap the one i have or try to get rid of it, i heard that they were good but never seen anyone lookin to build them up or anything.

Valve Cover Question

they are good but the low range isnt very low, its only 2.02:1 you can put a terra kit and drop it down to 3.15:1

The AMC 20 rear that came in CJ's had weak 2 piece axles and the tubes were prone to bending. I've put 1 peice axles in mine and I'm going to try welding and trussing the tubes. When it does go I plan on replacing it with a 44.

oh well then i guess i got a dana 20 for parts if neone needs them

The AMC 20 is arguably as strong as the dana 44 IF you put 1 piece (superior or moser) axles and a truss. I've had 1 piece axles in mine for 7 years with no problems, but I'm only running 31's. Bigger tires will stress it more; the 1 pieces will hold up, but you might need a truss for the tubes....

I still have my 2 piece rear 20 on 31's,but I plan on putting in a solid shafts real soon. For now,I will just have to baby it until I get my superior shafts.

anyone seen House Of The Dead?

cool but im not usin the 20, i juss need to save up soem $$$ to get some brackets welded on to my D44, hehehe thats gunna get trussed and locked at both ends of my jeep hehehe

So was it really a dana 20 or a amc 20. I have only seen a front dana 20 on a IH Scout I had but that is the last one I have seen.

im not sure whather its a Dana or an AMC but its a 20 and its a rear diff not the front diff hehe

I had a dana 20 front axle on my IH Scout. I have not seen a rear though. It might have been something like a It was a long time ago.
