CB Antenna?

Alright, so i was just wondering, has anyone ever heard or, or done it themselves, making a CB antenna into an am/fm radio antenna? It seems like it would take a bit of work, and should increase your signal since it's so much bigger. Anyways, what are YOUR thoughts? & if it sounds like a good idea what antenna would you recommend?

I've never tried it, but if you could use one double wrapped antenna to pull both signals, how awesome would that be? I don't see why you couldn't use a CB antenna for AM/FM though.. Here's what I found on the topic:

3-WAY (AM/FM/CB) ANTENNA

Good luck on your project, and I'd be interested to know how it works out!

firestik makes a connection that lets you use both, its connects under the dash

I tried, and failed. The connections are different but im sure radio shak has the adapter. I figured that I didnt use the radio enough to care, Ipod!

I will ahve to crack open the dash , but I will try and get you a picture of the piece. it connect to the car radio and the CB, it even lets you tune the cb antenna partially from the unit.

in the 70's ford came out with that option during the cb craze now the problem was the cb had serious problems with recieve not enough signal you still can find these am fm cb radios but i would not recomend it now you can for a small investment get a small cobra 25 ltd any where 12' of coax cabel 1 rf meter a tuneable antenna not just a fibeglass antenna but one you can tune is you have a tire stop like i do then raise it to the top of the tub if not then you can bolt it directly to the tub punch a hole in the tub to fit pl259 through hole put a grommet in hole so you don't short it out,you can go to your local truck stop and get a glad hand grommet that has rubber covering the hole acts as a weather cover. a 4' antenna would be suitable you have to get the load above the rollbar in your jeep or you wont recieve much just remember to remove antena if you wheel in a place that has low hanging branches it will snap off, go to your local cb shop and drill them for your answer's or ask them to do an install for you its not that expensive if you buy radio from them. this is what i do so i know what im talking about it sounds like alot but its not and you should be able to talk 20 miles with this setup if you go your way than maybe a .5 mile to a mile now that aint nothing to be proud about i can send you pictures of my set up on my yj but im over kill and i dont wheel that much anymore and i can talk 48 miles with my set up i hope this helped you out ;)
