Career certifications

I'm studying for another career certification (CCNA Collaboration for those interested) and it's the pits. I'm just amazed at how hard it is to get back in the the textbook studying / test taking mentality after being out of school for so many years (I'm 42).

Anyone else have to do the career certification thing, or just past tests every so often?

Lots of training and certification. I enjoy learning though, so I embrace it. Not all of it is good though.

I feel your struggle. About a year ago had to goto Florida..sounds great except Florida in August is no fun. Also the class was 10 hour days that felt like each day was a week long. Now I am certified to work on one of the biggest pain in the world fire system. Being in a tech field it happens to me almost every year or so when the newest and latest technology comes out .

Most of my certifications have been me studying on my own, then taking a test when I feel I'm ready. I've failed my share of tests, and at $250 a pop they add up quick.

I always kick myself for waiting so long to get certified on some of this stuff. The stuff I'm studying now is directly applicable to my job, and would have made my life easier if I had learned it a year ago.
