Cam grinding the distributor gear off

I just cranked my freshly rebuilt motor over this weekend. Noticed it was not firing correclty so I checked my spark on each plug and found all the firing was on the no 3 spark. Popped out my distributor to find the gears ground away. I called the cam shop and the machine shop that assembled the short block. The thought is because I used a high flow oil pump this could be creating the problem. Have any of you ever heard this?

Oil starvation. You'll have to check your main gallery, it may be blocked somewhere. Best thing to do is get an oil pressure tank somewhere and connect it where the pump hooks up. W/O the pan on see if you get flow. You should see oil dripping down at all of the jurnals.

Sorry have to run..........

Called Clifford performance and a few other cam and machine shops today. Didnt even mention my hi flow oil pump just said my dist gear and cam gear where ate alive. First thing they all said was I ran a hi flow oil pump. A big no, no. Clifford has tested this and found the gears can be destroyed in as little as 6 seconds after inital start up.

Hope not. I was told to replace the valves, cam and oil pump and go from there.
