I am planning to get the cable to put the front axle in 4X4 and doing away with the vacuum is there anything I need to know about doing his and were is the most common place to mount the pull handle?

nothing crazy about doing it. you can find posts all over the forums about doing the same swap.

There may be but I cannot find any. I have searched with multiple terms and found nothing talking about actually doing it

i did it on my 87 wrangler front end. you have the split axle on the passenger front side with a collar that slides over and lock it together when you put it in 4x4? thats the vacuum actuated part you want to replace, correct?

i used a cable that was a generic choke cable for a carbureted engine to pull the pull the collar back and forth.

let me find some posts and i will link them for you

I'm not seeing anything to do with wires so I am going assume that undoing any wires and plugging off vacuum lines is not going to bring warning lights on the dash.
