Buying a Jeep

As soon as I sell my truck I am buying a 1983 Jeep CJ7. Is there any advice anyone would give on what would be the first modifications. I will be on a budget, so I am looking for cheap mods. A few I am considering are:

shackle lift (appears to be easy and cheap. The Jeep has 32" tires on it and the tires fill up the wheel wells more than I like)

distributor/ignition swap

Thanks for any help you can give me on these topics.

Shackles and body lifts are the cheapest way out but a good supension lift is the key to a good mod in this fourm. In the name of saveing money I would go with a 1" to 2" body lift at most and/or a 1.5" shackle lift at most. Add a leaf spring to your packs and get some clearence pretty cheaply too. A combo of any two of the three will be a good thing. tug[addsig]

shackles, body lift, add-a-leaf... all inexpensive for lifting....
intake, cherry bomb, ignition... inexpensive for performance....
welded differentials (or spools), check ebay for gears, heck check ebay for everything... inexpensive for offroad[addsig]
