Brake line extention question.

When I did my soa I put on the longer brake lines and they seem to be really close to the tire. What do people do to keep them from hitting the tire and getting ripped out? For now I have just a loose zip tie holding it to the sway bars... Is there a better way?

I would rig up a carb spring to the hose. This will keep it back were you need it and stretch when it has to. You find all types of light weight springs at HOme depot or auto zone stores.

Exactly.
I have extra long lines and have ripped one off in the tire and nearly went off a cliff when it happened. I use a carb return spring on each side with one end sandwiched in the shock mount bolt between a flat washer and the other end attached to a band-it clamp on the brake line. It keeps them pulled back out of the way and has plenty of flex.
I used another carb spring on the rear line to take some slack out of it and keep limbs and sticks from snagging it.

Thats a sweet idea, thanks guys. I knew there must have been something better than a zip tie.

Yeah. That works. I had one on mine when it failed. It was old and had gotten dry and brittle. I guess it just broke off. The carb spring fixed it for good. Been about 3 years ago and no problems since.
