LMAO!! The one's you need to watch out for is the Mexico versions. I've seen one that had different parts from several different jeep production years. It's like pieced out from multiple units and the owner swears he bought it from Mexico brand new.
 
i believe it. you can still buy brand new air cooled vws in mexico. longest production run in history. what are they from, 1922 to present, ha ha ha.
