Let me first thank those helpful members who gave me good advice on my contemplated first used Jeep purchase - I bought a tarted-up Isuzu Trooper II (Acura SLX). LOL

Figured you may not ordinarily get status reports on failed Jeep attempts, but I got the right deal on a car that fit my needs. As a single dad I would likely have gone "cherokee" anyway....

Anyhoo, I pretend my Japanese tank is a Jeep regardless, and my 6 and 4 year-olds have had some exciting trailriding during and after the blizzards, and enjoyed every (warm, roomy, comfortable) minute of it. Went flat over a sizeable coupla deadfalls too.

Well, thanks for trying folks. Hope my '96 SLX (AKA Trooper II) keeps impressing for a few years. Mebbe then the Jeep. Thoughts on the SLX?

great trucks. i had a mid 80s (85, if i remember right) and i pulled many many jeeps out of spots. not hte jeeps fault though, inexperienced drivers. my trooper 2 was a hell of a truck though. kids loved and so did the wife. plus, you could fit 33s under stock suspension.

google the trooper2 if you want some history. they are well known in australia and africa

They are a very capable off road vehicle.
Maybe some day you can get a Jeep.Untill then have fun and keep the tires to the dirt.
