bearing carrier? u mean the hub bearing? that the wheel bolts to? tap it out with a punch or back the screws out and tap them out that way...

yeah my u joint on the passenger side is busted and i cant get the bearing carrier out of the way to get the axle out in the book it shows it just sliding out but it wont budge

that sucks... well, it sounds like jeepin916 knows what you're talking about... if that doesnt work try that guy or tell ryan to get ahold of Clayton and he'll know..

if its a TJ and you got the hub off that bolts the wheels on and you can see bearing then you need a new hub bearing assembly. that is a complete unit and it isnt servicable. after you take off the wheel and all the brake components that hub that is left that has the 5 studs for the wheel is pulled off and then the axle shafts slide rite out. if you ahve all that off and you still have something in the way then you pulled your hub bearing apart. i did that once, now you have the race left in the knuckle. you could get a slide hammer thats got a hok on the end and bang it out that way or you can cut it out. but either way your going to need a new hub bearing assembly. how did you pull that off? did u use a slide hammer? did u take out the 3 bolts on the back side of the knuckel? the hub bearing is held in place with 3 bolts. i seen a bunch of people try to pull those out not realizing there bolted down and destroy there assembly.
