I was wondering if there is supposed to be a gasket between the trans and the transfer case ax-15 and np235. I was leaking gear lube from between the transfer case and trans. I bought the adapter housing seal and replaced it. I was just wondering because when i removed the transfer case it was metal on metal and i don't know if its supposed to be like that or not.

No seal or RTV needed, just make sure the transmission output seal is in good condition.

it is a dry connections between all drivetrain components (motor-transmission, transmission-tcase)
