Assume you mean a car starter? They have all sorts of "safety" shut down stuff.Sorry loss for wording. I had an escort that it wouldn't work because of the hood latch button which disconnected. Some starters have a way to draw trouble codes. ex I had to hit buttons on fob in a certain way and the lights would flash a certain amount of times. And the amount of flashes were the code. Definitely worth looking in to.

The owner's manual should list all the safeguards that would cause the auto start to quickly shut down, assuming it's a factory option.
