aussie locker

so i picked up an aussie locker for xmas for my d30. well in the directions it says that you have to have a hardened cross pin for the warranty to be active and if you dont itll be void. it says to test the pin thats in the differential with a file to see if its hardened and if its not hardened that you need to get one. can anyone tell me if i need to get one before i tear into this? i dont wanna be minus some parts because i dont have the right cross pin. by the way, the directions are for general installation so there arent any specs per axle

I'd contact Randy's Ring and Pinion or Drivetrain Direct, or the place where you got the Aussie and find out what year's, if any, came with the hardened cross-shaft.

-a little discussion about cross shafts. Sounds like for around $20 you can get a hardened cross shaft - don't know if they came with them stock. If it were me I'd spend the $20 to be sure.
