Arrrrgh! Lost my wheel lock key

So, I rotated my tires last week, in the driveway of my house. Now, my wheel lock key is nowhere to be found. I've looked everywhere, and simply can't find it.

I've ordered this - Lug Nut Remover Wheel Lock Removal Kit 3pc CTA A157 | eBay

however I don't have much faith, since my lug nuts are pretty recessed in the rim, and require a thin wall socket normally.

Anyone have suggestions on how to get the locks off if the above doesn't work?

A few years ago on my Cherokee I had lug nuts that were stripped. I took a dermal and cut a notch into the lug nut. Then I took a chisel and hammer and tapped the nut off. I remember it was a pain, but it worked.

I think there was a post where someone said to use a 13/16 impact socket and an air gun. I suspect the eBay part you found should work well for this

That happened to me , I was fortunate enough to have a spare and welded the thing onto my lug wrench.

I was able to get them off by just pounding a 13/16" socket on top of the wheel lock. It's surprising how easy it was to remove them. Don't think I'll be using wheel locks any more

I had a monkey at the tire joint use an impact driver put the lock on the wheels of my ford. he over tightened it and split it breaking the top off it, I drove an impact socket onto it removed all the other lugnuts and lifted that corner of the car to get all the tension off the lug had the kid step on the break and spun the lug off. Went to a larger socket for an anvil and used a punch to knock the broken lock out of the socket. If you have access to plumbing pipes you can drive the right size on and use a pipe wrench to turn it off, which is another trick that Ive used in the past.

the only problem here is tightening the other lugs distributes pressure equally to all the lugs. instead, LOOSTEN them all the way, except for the one you need to remove, and jack the vehicle up at that wheel, this will allow the wheel to tip IN at this lug removing MORE pressure than you will by tightening all the rest. also using an impact socket of a little larger size will prevent it from splitting and allow you to drive the lock out and reuse the socket
