Anyone know how to replace wipers arm CJ7?

Seems so easy but damned if I can get the thing off to replace with a new arm.

Pic 1 and 2 shows the original wiper in place

Pic 3 is the replacement. U can see a little piece of metal that looks like you would press down on it to remove. The originals do not have it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The arm pushes on and pulls off of the stud that comes out of the windshield frame. It is a friction fit. You see the splines inside the cap of your third picture? That's what makes it all work.

It is not uncommon to need to pry it off but be carful or you will ding up your sheet metal on the frame.

X2, use a towel and a long needle nose pliers and wiggle it off from the base of the shaft to the end of the wiper arm.

Thanks to the both of you. Worked exactly like you both said. Used a pair of pliers and wiggled them right off... I swear I thought it had something to do with the metal tabs and I was worried I'd pull the whole things off stud included.

Just got a new windshield installed so I needed a new set of wipers, arms included.

She says, "Thanks".
