Any advice before I Herculine?

Clean it well, get rid of an rust. If things need to be cut out, do it now and weld in new metal. I had a floor pan go on me after I hurculined and it was a pain in the but to weld a new pan in with all that hurculine around. I had to grind it off. Oh and don't hurculine over the screws that hold down the door that goes to the transmission. Tape em off at least.

My tub has some rust in the floorboards, around the base of the roll-bar, and on the walls near the tailgate. It's not extremely bad rust but I figured Herculiner would probably slow down the rust a little more than carpet, which can trap moisture on the floorboards. I certainly don't want to spend a lot of money on this tub due to a dozen or so small rust areas therefore I don't want to Rinoline or Line-X.
Any thoughts on Herculining over the rust?

wear cruddy clothes, long sleeves, gloves, and prep, prep, prep.... buy extra scotch brite pads, get every sq. millimeter you want to coat, and when you think youre done.... scrub it more... rough it up good - the only places mine didnt stick good is where i got lazy... and take youre time - dont rush it... mine turned out good but i had to FIGHT my urge to get it done... .not a patient person - oh and if you have little spots that show thru (my red did in places...) like little pinholes etc... gloss black spraypaint matches perfectly...
oh yea... have fun gutting EVERYTHING and putting back in! - not the most fun project but I'd do it again... and get ready to answer questions by EVERYONE that sees it!

plan on that happening... To counteractthe colored pin-holes (after i roughed up the entire intereior of the tub) I painted it black primer, 2 coats, OCD maybe, but it worked. I was herc-ing a red tub like craig, and I thought that would happen... so like i said prep it the color you are herc-ing it before to eliminate the chance of pinholes.
also follow the dirs and give it at least 2 coats all over. I gave it 4 coats in the floors and rear where I figured it would take a beating. There is plenty there so dont worry about running out.
