My '95 YJ does not have A/C. I'd like to have A/C I have the 4-cyl/5-spd. The way I see it, these should be all the parts I need:
*Compressor
*Condensor
*Evaporator
*Lines/hoses
*HVAC dash climate control panel
*Mount brackets for compressor and condensor
*Replacement YJ dash with upper vents and vent tubing (non-A/C models only have the foot vent)
*New belt for compressor pulley.
I checked a universal A/C kit at JC Whitney. It costs $1600 and many people have told me those kits suck. If I did it the junkyard way I think I can do the entire project for around $300, maybe $400 max. Plus I'd have the benefit of staying cool OEM-style.
Again, this all depends on the parts. Assuming I want to do it, what are the chances I'd be able to find the parts I need out of Wranglers in junkyards? Also, is there anything else I would need or should know about before going in that you guys know of?
Thanks!
