99 wrangler stalling

Starter problems!!

I have a 99 wrangler w/ 2.5L 5sp and 37K miles. It started stalling / bogging down on the highway after 75 miles or so. I can push the clutch in and rev it up, let the clutch out and it will stall again. But, after doing this 3 or 4 times it starts to run fine for another 40-50 miles. It will then do it again. Any ideas?

Check engine light on?

Check for stored trouble codes by doing the following:
  • With key off, press and hold the odometer reset button
Turn key to run (not start) and back to off
    Release odometer button
Let us know what code appears in the odometer window

Lemme know.

Getting the mototcraft 2150

The check engine light doesn't come on, but I checked the trouble code like you mentioned and the code is 2.4

Any help would be great. Thanks,

2.4 if im not mistaken in the throtle postion sensor. I get the same read off my 98 TJ 2.5l. Im not having problems like that, and the jeep dealership swore up and down that it wasnt throwing that code, telling me my trick was bunk.

I'd replace the throttle position sensor (TPS).

Don't take what the stealership tells you as gospel.
