'99 Grandy Door Pops

Hello,

My drivers side door pops real loud, twice when opening, once when closing. I noticed the door check between the hinges appears to have a plastic sleeve over the metal, and it suddenly jumps when the door pops. Is it repairable, or should I get a new part? Is it easy to remove, or a PITA? Well, I guess that doesn't matter since I'll end up doing the work anyway  but is there any tricks or shortcuts? Common problem? Or should I just get a junkyard part and hope it doesn't happen again? Jus tme and wife, so I guess I could swap with a back door part if I had to.

PITA. I don't think the rear door check strap will fit the front. You will need to remove the door panel, window all the way up and replace the check strap. You can also try to give it a little grease if it isn't too late to salvage it.

PITA, figures. What more should I expect from a part that disappears into a door? Oh well, can't be worst than Grand Marq window regulators. Thanks for the help.

Thanks... might not be too bad if the trim comes off easy.
