I have a 99 GC 4.0 6cly.Auto.just turned 200,000. Last night on the highway driving about 65, transmission just went out, tach dropped to 0. I shifted down to keep it going, after a 1/4 mile looking for a spot to pull over,I shifted back up to drive, it was fine.Drove 30 mi.@60mph
Ive had it slip slightly now and then, wife says sometimes she has had it slip.(she drives it 99% of the time). Fluid level is ok .I had transmission filter replaced a few years ago. Could it be a switch? Is transmission going? Is it fixable? Would like to keep it a couple more years.
Anyone have issues like this?
