98 Sport 4.0 after changing battery clamps will not start.

I cleaned battery posts and clamps. Went to start engine and it gave me a laboured turnover, then a series of clicking. Battery is fully charged. Jeep will start with boost. What is up?:? :???:

Just because the battery is fully charged with 12 volts is no guarantee that it has the ability to deliver the amps needed to turn over the engine.

My advice is you need to load test the battery after charging.

check over the obvious as well... corroded/loose ground wires, bad connection at the main power distribution thingy, etc...
