Hi, what is the stock length of a 2wd 700r4 with the tailcone? What is the length of a 700r4 with the adapter to a np231 and the np231 put together?

Aussie Locker Run-around

I´ve got a 2X 700R4 and a couple of 4X 700R4´s, under a ton of junk in the garage. I´ve also got one bolted to a NP241, with the adaptor. Can´t help you out, with the adaptor and the 231.
If you seriously need the measurements say go and I´ll move some junk.
The case, bellhousing to rear mating surface is 595 mm, the shaft is another 60 mm on the 4X model.
The case on the 2X bell housing to rear mating surface is the same, the tail piece is another 185 mm to the seal surface, and the shaft 15 mm longer. The shaft is 200 mm from the rear mating surface (where the tail piece or the adaptor bolts up) to the end.
I moved the junk, you can do the math, I couldn´t find my inch tape measure.

The shipping would probably cost more than the transmission´s worth. I´m living in the middle of Germany. :D Personnaly, I wouldn´t recommend a 700R4, for anything other than a chock block or a door stop. I think the AW4 is probably a better transmission, even behind a V-8. The 4L60 (non electronic) is probably a better choice, but expensive (for a reason). They make replacement kits to change the 700R4 to a TH350 (or a TH400). That´s what I´d do.
