hello all, new member here, I need some help on a 4.0 grand cherokee. My son ran it with no oil. it has locked up. My question is, can I use a 4.0 from a 90s model with a distributor, as mine doesn't have one. can i transfer the parts off the 2000 motor onto the 90s model, will that work ? if not, can I wire up the distributor to work in the 2000 ? any help will be appreciated, thanks, Art

You should be able to re-use the distributor from the old engine to the 2000 model.
