35s with 3.73

AX-5 question

I just put 35s on yesterday and now they are balenced. couldnt go above 35 mph without shaking cause pep boys sux. I dont have any complaint yet I can use fifth gear fine I havent run a full tank of gas yet so I dont know what the mileage will be. Does anybody know how to correct the speedometer cause for every 20 miles on mine I am really going 25 thanks

You need to go buy a new gear for your rear output housing. It was about 5-10$. I forgot the exact amount just go in and ask for the right gear ratio. you can find it here with instructions on how to install the gear.
It took me less than five minutes to install it.

first trip to the gas station today heres what I did. I know my milage is off now so I came up with this formula stock 30 inch tires 30x 3.14 35x 3.14 equals the two perimiters that is a 14 % increase so I multiplyed the miles on my trip meter .86 to find my milage ended up @ 14 mpg used to get 15 to 16 dont think it is worth regearing do you ?

Remember the difference is progressive. If at 25 the speedo says 20, then at 50 it will say 40. Getting the speedo corrected will be nice, but you can get an idea how far off it is with a handheld gps (you know someone who has one - me!)

Were planning on moving the end of May. I don't have to wait 'till it gets warm to go wheelin'!

After we move I'l still be heading to Harford County often, my mother lives there. I'm looking forward to finding some new trails up there and I'll let you know when I do!

Depends on more than just gas mileage. Is the crawl ratio too high, crawl speed too fast? Does it suffer on the highway, uphill, passing? Running the engine with too low of RPMs in any given gear is hard on the engine if it's under a load.
