I love when people blame Bush. He has nothing to do with the price of oil. You have the internet at your finger tips , might want to look around abit and see why the price of oil goes up.

I know why gas prices go up, I've seen all the excuses. I also never said Bush had anything to do with the price of oil. I'm talking gas prices, and though the two are related, they are still somewhat independent of each other. I blame Bush (and others, not just him, but since he's in the catbird seat, he can do the most to help) for not doing anything about the apparent gouging and constant increases in gas prices. Do you think an 8 figure salary is too little or too much for the heads of the gas companies? I realize they are in a business where the bottom line is to make money, but come on. The prez can do something about it, if they didn't have him in their back pocket. Wheat is sold on speculation, too, but you don't see the price of bread bouncing up and down (and mostly up) do you? This was a terrible year for wheat in Kansas and some surrounding states, so does that mean you are willing to pay $5 for a slice of bread? Why doesn't that happen? Because the prez and congress won't allow it. They have just as much control over the price of gas as they do pretty much any other commodity in the US, regardless of where it comes from. Too many oil lobbyists are wearing knee pads in congress and the oval office, and the prez has too much invested in Big Oil to do a damn thing about the prices.......

Yee haw!!
If you think gas prices are high now, just wait til alternate fuel vehicles take over and you try to top off your antique 2006 model Rubicon with 87 unleaded.

I'm considering the Flintstone mod next. Holes in the front floorboards so I can use my feet for power and braking!:purple:

They found gouging in Maryland, but stated that it did not violate any laws on the books. So why even look into gouging if no one can do anything.

Back during the 9/11 crisis, there were stations around here that were caught gouging. Only 2 or 3 were charged, though. Why? Because Kansas law (and perhaps federal, but I'm not sure on that) states that a station can only raise it's gas price by 50% in a 24 hour period. What does that equate to? Let's say today gas is $2 a gallon. They raise their price the legal 50% to $3 a gallon. 24 hours later, they raise it another 50% to $4.50 a gallon. 24 hours later, it's up to $6.75 a gallon. One week later, you are paying $34.17 a gallon, and it's all perfectly legal. That is one area that our illustrious prez can step in to stem the tide. Only one of many things he could do if he wasn't throat deep in oil lobbyists all the time......

Wow...I just scared myself and continued that calculation for an entire year: $1776.94 a gallon!!!!!!! Of course, there would be mass riots and some severe civil disobedience long before that, I'm sure!

Well, gas prices took the obligatory weekend jump today from $2.76 to $2.88.

Why not blame Bush? He gets blamed for everything anyway. It's all his fault - the money grubbing big corporate taking a bath in oil and gas profits keep the man down while polluting the air and killikg bog turtle racist levy blowin-up killing innocent arabs sending young men and women to die for more oil profits while ****ing off all the other countries out there.

Yeah, buddy, I'm sick of it too. I've got my issues with "W" and the entire government as a whole, but it is mostly for failing to make government smaller like Reagan, not for even a fraction of the stuff those sheeple are indoctrinated to believe he is responsible for. Ignorance is bliss, so they are many fat, dumb, and happy people out there.
