258 head alignment pins

does the 4.2 have alignment pins to match the head to the block or is it held in place with just the bolts? If it does where do you find them?

Maybe i should say dowel pins. I cant belive that just the head bolts will keep the head from moving. Any takers on this topic. The machine shop that re-done my head thinks there should be some but its been 6 months since i torn down the jeep and cannot remember if there were any in the head or block. The head has 2 holes machined that looks like it would take a hollow dowel but the matching holes on the block start off with threads. Thanks

I would say Yes on the Dowels to keep the head ports aligned with the block ports. I've never seen a cylinder head just bolted down without some sort of alignment..

the heads on the 4 cyl yj's dont have dowel pins.
i mean the blocks. sorry
