2011 Grand Security System Question

Just picked wifey up a 11 Grand Cherokee Laredo X V8 today. Blackberry Pearl. I have to say, Jeep did it's homework! We had a 01 a few years ago and loved it. This one is fairly pimp for sure.

Now, for $595 the dealer wanted to "install" a security system. When I declined, they told the porter to "turn it off"!!!!! So, anyone know how one would go about turning it back on? 8)

Thanks a bunch. Newbie to the boards, but I have a 69 CJ5 that is MINT, and now a 11GC. I'm looking to get a Wrangler here soon as a DD.

Hmmm. That sounds a little fishy. I personally have not seen a dealer allowing a porter to do a certified technicians job. For one, liability is an issue, secondly, the 2011 GC training is still ongoing all throughout the country and i'm almost positive that the porter isn't in it. There are several things to look at in terms of determining if your GC IS equipped with the VTSS. One is with the SKIM. Does the instrument cluster illuminate with a key symbol when the key is turned to run position?, is the vehicle equipped with a RKE?(mostlikely), if it is, PM me the VIN #.
